Puck's Signature Moments
SPOTLIGHT #1
The Ritual Music (Performance Check: 24)
While resting in the guest room, Puck heard faint music drifting up from the 2nd floor. With a masterful Performance check of 24, Puck identified it as ceremonial and religious in nature—perhaps a ritual or incantation. The music grew louder, then stopped. This moment showcased Puck's expertise in performance and his attunement to cultural/magical cues.
SPOTLIGHT #2
The Summoning Circle (Arcana Check: 18)
In the secret room behind the mimic, Puck examined three glowing magical circles on the floor. With an Arcana check of 18, Puck gained full understanding of what they were: a summoning ritual capable of pulling something IN from another plane—or pushing something OUT. This knowledge is crucial for Session 3. Puck knows the stakes.

What Puck Learned From Zala
- Zala's Curse: She's a spider-cursed wizard (spider spine, clickety feet). Former research partner with Marcos. He stole her work.
- Marcos: Not a real wizard. His power comes from magical blood. He's hemophiliac without the Codex—bleeds uncontrollably from small wounds.
- Old Crow: The entity being summoned. Real name is "Faerolfrak" (fragment known). Speaking the real name triggers shadow creatures and rifts—never say it aloud.
- Ritual Magic: Zala's ritual magic is immune to wild surges. She's been using it to suppress them this whole time—that's why the party only saw 2 surges instead of many.
- Mission: Zala wants the Great Snake Constellation Map from the basement. She can't go herself but will reward the party if they retrieve it.
- Mansion Dangers: The westernmost room on the 1st floor has an eldritch rift—never open that door. The eastern guest room is safe.
