Geekplanet.ca is a Canadian effort to unite the power of Geek(tm) within the Northern Ontario region and the world. What is a Geek?
The definition of geek has changed considerably over the years. We like to think that the term Geek refers to a person who is interested in technology, computers, gaming and new media but with a devotion in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. The term Geek has always had negative connotations within society at large; however, we see it as a badge of honour, a compliment denoting extraordinary technical skills. Unconfirmed rumours exist that we also bite the heads of live animals and eat bugs. =P But dictionaries are dumb.
